User Experience Design for WordPress Web Sites: Does Your Blog Design Support Your Content?
User Experience Architect David Drucker will talk about what makes users want to read, navigate and interact with a web site. By better understanding some of the psychology behind the way people take in information, WordPress users can make better decisions about what Theme to use, and how they might improve its usability.
Among the issues he’ll cover:
Typography and readability
Navigation and Way-finding
Colour usage
Form design (for comments and other interactivity)
Multimedia (sound and video usability)
Information design (charts, graphs and other pictorial elements)
Supporting different kinds of users (those with special needs and mobile users)
Attendees will get some tips and guiding principals that will help them determine what parts of their blog’s UI they can improve upon, to attract readers and keep them coming back for more.
