In this session, Vanessa Chu will describe how she created a private user area for a client site using custom post types, and various plugins that create new user groups, modify capabilities, and limit access.

This is an Intermediate session. Members must know how to register a custom post type and comfortably edit templates.

Vanessa Chu is the Co-organizer of the Vancouver WordPress Meetup Group. She is a Web Designer and WordPress developer at DesignFaire (http://www.designfaire.com), her WordPress consultancy specializing in building compelling WordPress sites for small business and not-for-profits. With a MA in Media Studies, Vanessa approaches web development with a focus on communications and useability. Vanessa is also a Co-organizer of the first WordCamp: Developers (http://wordcampdevelopers.com/) held in Vancouver this year.
